ROTC Merit Awards News
The Freedom Fund initiated funding of Merit Awards for ROTC in 2005 as part of its objectives.
In 2007 there were four (4) Merit Awards made for $500.00 each for a total of $2000.
- Cadet David Burt, Air Force ROTC Detachment 410, St. Thomas University
- Cadet Issac M. Landecker, Air Force ROTC Detachment 415, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus
- Cadet Britt Nemeth, Air Force ROTC Detachment 420 University of Minnesota, Duluth.
- Cadet Ross Puffer, Army ROTC, Minnesota State University, Mankato
In 2006 there were four (4) Merit Awards made for $500.00 each for a total of $2000.
- Cadet Brian Lovig, Minnesota State University, Mankato, Army ROTC (Army National Guard)
- Midshipman Jason Q. McClintic, University of Minnesota Navy ROTC Detachment (attends St. Thomas University, St. Paul)
- Cadet Nathan Gavic, University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus, Minneapolis, Air Force ROTC Detachment 415
- Cadet Anthony C. Bowman, University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Air Force ROTC Detachment 410
Number of Merit Awards and the amount of each award is flexible to vary year by year. In 2005 there were three (3) awards made for $500.00 each for a total of $1500.
The Merit Awards have been presented to the recipients at the Department's annual ROTC Recognition Night held in November of each year.
